One of our extremely talented EQers, Jenny Novinsky, designed this adorable Robot stuffie in EQ7 and the pattern and instructions are in Fat Quarterly now! For this paper pieced masterpiece Jenny used the new EQ7 Swath tool to create his cool arms and legs.
Pick up a copy of the March 2012 American Quilter, flip to page 28 and there you will find a wonderfully written bio on our very own Penny McMorris by Marjorie L. Russell. You'll read about Penny's beginnings in quilting, her time as an art curator for Owens Corning Corporation, and how The Electric Quilt Company came to be. Not to mention all the really fun details in between. It's a great, read.
Maybe you just need a pep talk from Judy Laquidara!
American Quilter magazine’s March 2012 cover features a beautiful quilt, designed in EQ7, by Editor-in-Chief Christine Brown. Chris says “This was an unexpected honor for me, and truly a quilting dream come true,” because Meredith Schroeder, president of AQS and publisher of American Quilter, chose the quilt. Chris scanned her own fabrics into EQ7 for her “Tapenade” quilt. The quilt is patterned, with full instructions, in the March 2012 issue (on newsstands by Feb. 16).

Submit a photo of your finished EQ BOM quilt (or quilt top). We'll display all quilts on our blog and choose one favorite to win our Grand Prize of the entire Quilting Designs Series, Volumes 1-7! Entry deadline: March 1, 2012 at 9:00 am, EST. See contest details.
Well, we felt in necessary to choose 3 random winners for this contest. We had considered that last word in the lesson to be “EQ7”. But many of you were clever to note that EQ7 is neither a “word” (by proper definition of a word) nor the last actual word on the page (the last word printed on the page was actually “sketchbook”). Therefore, there needed to be 3 winners! Laura Davis - was randomly chosen from those who answered “EQ7”. Thanks for shining light on our faux pas and congrats to all the clever winners! They all win a Kaleidoscope Collection CD.
EQ7 has 5 different Eyedropper tools. Name them all. If we choose your name randomly from all correct answers we’ll give a copy of Kaleidoscope Collection.

But we also want YOUR quilt in the "EQ Quilt Gallery! Send us a photo of your quilt, plus your EQ project containing the EQ design for this same quilt. Tell us a bit about you, your quilt, your designing, etc. List your website or blog if you have them. Send to: penny@electricquilt.com. We love seeing what you're making and knowing more about you. As soon as we have 10 new quilts to make a new page we’ll exhibit them.
