Fresh and New from EQ! Our newest project – My EQ Boutique! An online pattern shop and more! The MORE is a free downloadable software program that lets you print your pattern in "suggested size" or ANY SIZE. Sewing instructions are included where applicable, and template, foundation, and rotary-cutting versions of the patterns are right at your fingertips. Visit www.myeqboutique.com for details and see our debut designers. New designs added each week!
EQ is literally all over the Small Quilts and Gift issue from Quiltmaker. From front cover to back! Our very own Heidi Kory designed an adorable Christmas quilt, "Tannenbaum Forest" that is in the issue. It's pictured on the front cover. You'll of course find the great project inside and if you check out the back cover, you'll find us there too! Pick up your copy and start making this adorable project. Great quilt, Heidi!

Janet’s tracing of a photo taken in Rome captured a Blue Ribbon and Best of Show as a computer graphic at the Skagit Valley Fair, Mt Vernon, Washington recently. Janet printed the image of the Colosseum on 8½” x 11” photo paper to capture the fine arts division award. Woo hoo, Janet!
Your chance to win a monthly EQ BOM prize! Get the pattern on our blog. Sew the block. Send us a photo of the sewn block. Anyone can enter (even if you don't own EQ!). A new prize each month. One entry per person/per month. Submitted photos will be added to the blog in a Finished Blocks post with your name, and entered in our monthly contest. The September prize is: Kaleidoscope Collection
The August Amusement (block #14) winner was: Robin Grube. Robin wins a copy of Digital Essentials.
Congratulations to Kathy Beeson, who won the book, Karen K. Stone Quilts, in our EQ Pioneer contest. Kathy’s name was chosen at random from all those guessing correctly that the first EQ User Manual was: GRAY.

Get started designing pieced sashing by working through this easy beginner-level lesson in EQ6 or EQ7.
Two classes are already full. Register now -- the only hands-on 5-day EQ7 computer lab we know of. Take one all-day class or take them all. Registration for International Quilt Festival classes in Houston opens this month. Classes run from October 31 – November 4, 2011. Register early, as these classes will fill! See the class schedule here. Watch Quilts, Inc. for registration information. Note this error that Quilts, Inc. alerted us to in the 2011 Quilt Festival class catalogue: Barb Vlack's Wednesday class # 311 has two different titles, depending on where in the catalogue you look. The description is the same in both places. In the regular class listings, it is correctly listed as "EQ7: Beginning Drawing" on page 40. In the Computer classes breakout section, it is titled "EQ7 Quilt Designing" on page 19.
Attention all EQ7 users! Registration may still be open for EQ7 Sampler, taught by Fran Gonzalez. Class starts September 9th. As the class description says: “By the end of class, you will have an EQ7 project file packed with unique and exciting designs, plus the confidence to actively explore this amazing program on your own.” This class is a pre-req for taking further EQ classes from Fran. Taught in 4 sessions. Fran is also the author of our sold-out book, EQ6 Simplified. Register now at Quilt University.
Learn EQ7 while sailing on a 14 day Quilt 'n Cruise Adventure to Hawaii. Barb Vlack will teach a 5-day hands-on EQ Academy for EQ7. See class schedule here and sign up for in-depth EQ7 classes from a master.

Add this up: Kids + schoolhouse = cute!
This simple quilt layout is perfect for 4” snapshots, printed on fabric. And works with EQ7 since you can crop your photos right in EQ7. We’ve had many requests for this project file so we share it with you here. See the Notecard for some instructions.
