Electric Quilt 5 Frequently Asked Questions

I save blocks in the User Library 1 - Style 1, but they show up the in the Block Library under Library 2 - Style 1. What's going on?
The order of the libraries is fine on some computers, but gives these results on others. The order is determined by the computer's File System Manager, and is not something we have direct control over.

If your File System is displaying them in this way, here's how to know which one is which.... all you need to do is re-name the Library.

  1. On the LIBRARIES menu, click Add Blocks.
  2. Double-click User Libraries to open it.
  3. Click the first Library, so the word "Library" becomes highlighted.
  4. Click the library name again, so a box forms around it which allows you to rename it.
(Steps 3 and 4 are not a double-click. It is a click and then a click shortly thereafter.)
  5. Type your new name (up to 32 characters). The old name disappears as you type.
  6. Open the library and click on Style 1 so it is selected.
  7. Click Save Library. You will receive either of the following messages:
"Your blocks have been saved in the library!" Click OK.
"There are no items in this style. Rewrite?" Click Yes, then click OK.
  8. Repeat Steps 3 - 7 for the remaining libraries.
  9. Click Close when you are finished renaming.
