Dear Diane Quilt
We, at The Electric Quilt Company, admired Barbara's great research feat, and asked her to collaborate with us to produce BlockBase, a software version. We entrusted the drawing duties to none other than Diane McEwen-Martin, one of our EQ staff members. The picture at left shows Barbara working with Diane, who redrew every block in the new BlockBase. As a big "Thank You" to Diane for all her hard work, members of Info-EQ coordinated a quilt, they named "Dear Diane".
All 182 different blocks in the beautiful sampler quilt are old traditional blocks made from patterns printed from BlockBase software. The project was initiated, coordinated, and hand-quilted (!) by Jean Folkes, of Arlington, Washington as a way of thanking Diane for drawing the over 4000 quilt blocks for the new Windows BlockBase version released at Christmastime. This dazzling king-size quilt, emphasizing Diane's favorite colors of purple and teal, will be something Diane will treasure as much as Dean and Penny do the Info-EQ quilt that Info-EQ members made for them two years ago. Our warmest thanks to everyone who contributed a block, and especially to Jean Folkes!
