I went with this coloring for my Halloween EQ RR. I wanted to have a mixture of pieced, applique and embroidery on the quilt.

I started with a Rust-red colour on white, with Chinese style applique figures.

As the overall quilt is quite detailed, I may make this as a Shadow Applique quilt.

The centre is so strong that I tried not to take away from it but to complement it by using similar blocks and a range of the deeper colours. - Sue

I am hoping to make this as a table cover. I love coffee and my kitchen is brown and blues. I am also doing more embroidery so thought this would be a nice start. Please use country colors and feel free to add applique or coffee embroideries.

I love the Fusions line of fabric and would like to make a quilt completely from it. I also love the looks of red, white and blue. Have fun ladies.

Marge has a beautiful center block and I looked for something that would just flow around the outside of it. I really like the colors. I added the green to her theme.
- Shelley

Marge and Shelley made good jod. It was joy to design the 3rd Border and color it.
- Maarit

Amazing what can be done with only 4 fabrics. I hope you like the final border.
- Linda

I really love the way it came out. I will probably make this one. I re-sized it to make a miniature of it.

Ended up doing the same border as Linda made as part of her center, but in brighter colors. -Marge

The colors are a fall line. I added leaves to surround with a fall feeling.

Fall All Around Creates a Flower effect and would be beautiful in any color.

I thought the piece needed a little softening to add contrast to the angles of the blocks. - Linda

3rd Border went back to the angular look. The fabrics make a beautiful fall quilt.

Finished! I love it! Very Beautifully added to! - SHELLEY

Thinking of Fall it is blueberries, harvest time and falling leaves. But it is also colors yellows, browns, reds and greens and chilly evenings with all hues of blues. -Maarit

I believe the piece needed a quiet, elegant frame to compliment the piece without adding any distraction. - Linda

The palm block reminds me of the thistles I found on my grandfather's farm when I walked through the woods. So far the borders look like a picture frame. - Marge

It looks like a wooden frame around a picture.

I love living in the Southwest and so I have wanted to design a quilt that had some characteristics of the southwest. The kokopelli is very popular on many different items here in the southwest and so I designed a quilt around it.

I like what was added to my center! I had great fun drawing the bird couple and it looks like everyone had fun with the borders, too.

I added a virtual border using a new technique for me: drawing the block using Patchdraw Block. The patches I didn't draw are 'holes' in the block, giving the sawtooth edge. The block is set on Layer 2. The effect is the same as drawing it with Patchdraw Motif but with snap points, drawing is much faster and easier.

I drafted blocks to echo the centre. I also added an orange fabric to link to the centre. I added a small band of a paler green to bridge between the blue of border 1 and the green that I have used. -Jo

I have taken the block used in the centre for my border. By setting it on point and introducting a couple of new colours I have changed the emphasis of the block.

I added a couple of mitered 1" borders between the pieced borders. I decided to use the block that I used for the center to end the quilt, arranging them so them form a ribbon type edge around the whole quilt. Finally I added an embroidery/applique in the center...

Also I changed the solid color light Linda used to a light fabric... thought it added depth, but I liked the lightness in that border and carried it in to the last border...

I stayed with the diamond shapes. I chose this block, because I could have the orange on one side so it would blend in with Marge's border. -Chris

I had a hard time with the border until I put the inner one-inch strip of green in. Now i think it works. I echoed the monkey wrench of the center block. -Kristin

I stayed with the angles and incorporated the look of the rail fence of the center. I needed to add the 1/2 inch black border first so the border pieces would fit correctly. This is a quilt for my own heart as I love the scrappiness of it!! -Chris
