This is just a plain star colored in scrappy colors but I think it would be fun to make.

Perth Western Australia

I was trying to get a tiled floor effect.

Perth Western Australia

This quilt uses a number of Diamond Fan blocks. If you look at it a certain way you can see circles, or rings. 'Diamond Ring' is a term used in a solar eclipse to describe a large burst of light that appears a few seconds before and after totality. I decided to call the quilt 'Diamond Ring' in honour of my husband's trip to China this month to see the longest total solar eclipse this century. Unfortunately it was totally clouded out where he was! At least this way he'll have a diamond ring of one kind to remember.

I used a layout from the library and
resized blocks and stripes.

The sherbert fabrics remind me of ice cream with summer flavors.

I changed the size and number of blocks in the layout to form a diamond shape.
The name represents the Harlequin design from the book series.

I have many blues and thought they would work well in a diamond quilt like this.

I used the Stars 1 layout and a simple Courthouse Steps block to create this quilt.

This is one of the premade quilt layouts with a simple Churn Dash block. Very "op art" look.
