A design using "hollow cubes" evolved into what looked like chrysanthemums under a dimensional grid in this Baby Blocks setting.

Setting my "V" monogram block on point begged for embellishment. I love the circles, which remind me of family birthstone jewelry.

This quilt is really easy. It's just 4-Patch, 9-Patch, 16-Patch, and 25-Patch blocks set in a Variable Point quilt.

I designed this quilt for a Block of the Month I am doing at a local quilt shop using browns, tans, and black fabric. I wanted to set my blocks differently from what everyone else is doing (just have to be different you know!) so I have been playing with settings in EQ6.

The BOM calls for a small LeMoyne Star in the center. I wanted to increase the size and complexity and then arrange the other 12 blocks around it. This is one of the possibilities Each of the blocks are different, not the same as in this quilt, and I will eventually get all those blocks into EQ and really finalize my design.

What more can a girl ask for? Chocolate and diamonds!

The basic block came from the EQ library, I just tweaked the colors and added the border.

For this challenge I explored the layouts available in the "Layout Library" - a feature I had never used before but will definitely use again. Such fun!

Playing with EQ6 is sooooo relaxing. While designing this quilt, I imagined Christmas gifts I'd like to make this year. I'd better get cracking, don't you think? :-)

This is the same block of appliqued layers of slightly skewed diamonds, set square.

Appliqued layers of slightly skewed diamonds within larger diamond shapes, I thought this version looked rather like a snowflake.

By placing the Snail's Trail in a rectangular grid you end up with diamonds. A very simple challenge.

I was working with simplicity to see what would happen. The two blocks I used for this quilt were the nine patch and the snowball. I used the variable point setting for the quilt.

This is my version of a Freddy Moran design. I really love working with black and whte, especially with a checkerboard border

This is the first thing I thought of when diamonds were the challenge.
I used one of the quilt layouts, on point medallions, #7 and the quilt block diamond star.

You might not set out to pair a 4-grid block with a 7-grid, but when I tried it, I liked it. I popped them in 'Stars 27' from the layout library, added a block with 7 stripes and the corner block from my other challenge quilt for July.

I did enjoy this challenge but it wasn't easy to settle on a design. The file had 57 quilts in it before I made a decision.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge! This design uses the 'Contrary Wife' block straight from the EQ library, set as a 9"x16" variable diamond.

The border blocks are 'Scroll with Thorns and Diamonds' that I tweaked a little (just can't leave things alone). I redrew the backbround to make it two color. I also drew a corner block with four diamonds. The sashing and cornerstones were drawn by me, too.

I never even thought of coloring this challenge's quilts with fabrics. The scaling feature of EQ6 makes them look like solids anyway.

I used some favourite Dear Jane blocks from the EQ CD to make the diamonds and then used historical fabrics from one of the monthly libraries to keep the theme.

This quilt uses an offset applique on top of a pieced diamond quilt.

This quilt uses square in a square blocks set in a rectangle to make a diamond shape.
