December 2008 Challenge: Inspired by a Beverage! (Page 3)

Design a quilt (or two) that reminds you of your favorite beverage. This can be alcoholic or soft, hot or cold, good-for-you or not. Have fun creating images in appliqué or piecing that work with your theme.

This is my first time and I waited until the last minute. I like table runners on my dining room table and I like coffee, so this one from the EQ6 quilt layout library made me think of the blocks as coffee cups.

This quilt is one of the designs I actually did for my husband when he requested a quilt based on a beer coaster from Samual Adams Boston Style Lager. He loves the beer and he loves these colors.

Beverages must be served in glasses, right? That means anything from long stemware to small shot glasses!

Second only to coffee, I love a sharp red wine, and everything to do with wine country! This is what I have tried to portray in this appliqué quilt. Some of the vine blocks from the border library came in perfectly for this design. And the color scheme fits well with the holiday season.
