I chose the colours from Black Vase II by Alfred Gockel.
I played with using a block as a quilt layout and added automatic
borders to the quilt before recolouring it

My colors came from a needlework picture of a birch forest with
various fern and floral accents. I wanted to experiment with a single
shape in a quilt that was not the usual Grandmother's Flower Garden.

The color inspiration is the same picture of a birch forest. The
layout makes this one a WOW.

My friend makes Kaleidoscopes, and the changing colors and patterns
are fascinating to see. My goal here was to imagine movement of the
shapes and colors.

Just as the challenge was annouced, I got an abstract picture in an email
that was mostley pink, yellow, and gray. I think it is an unusual combination
but I quite like it.
