"Draw your own block. Do NOT use a block as is from the EQ Block Library or any other
EQ product. You may alter a block by adding or removing lines, superimposing two blocks,
combining blocks to create a new single block, or draw an original block. Set the block(s)
into a quilt."

I recently purchased a bright read mug and saucer. Every time I see
it I think I need tea and cookies :-)

Using EQ6, I started with the Weathervane block and used the Serendipity tool to add a border thus creating a new original block. I colored the quilt with jewel tone prints resulting in this submission. Hillsboro, OR |

This is just an extra to share with my Challenge Friends to show the block in a different layout style. |
Another block design combining the two blocks: Lady of the Lake with a Pinwheel or Rosebud block center to create this dramatic quilt. |
My block design combines the two blocks: Lady of the Lake with Log Cabin to create this dramatic quilt. Thanks EQ, I really love these challenges and enjoy the creative inspiration that is created by taking part! |
What fun! I surprised myself when I saw the various settings for this single block. Willowbrook, IL |

EQ5 Horizonal quilt using two color variations of the Star Lite block. Different quilt patterns can be obtained by varying the block colors and rotations. Another version I tried looked like large pinwheels - it was interesting to see how different the quilts looked using the same block design! |
This too is an EQ5 Horizontal quilt using just two color variations of one block - in this case the Hearts & Triangles block, which in itself is a variation on the Star Lite Block used in the other quilt. The pieced background of both block designs is the same, but each has a different appliqué shape added. When the Hearts & Triangles blocks are rotated the hearts meet to form columns of four petal flowers alternating with columns of what appears to be on-point multi-patched diamonds. If I make this I'd like to try to embellish the triangle patches with embroidery stitches like in Crazy quilts. |
I had a lot of scraps left over from a project and just decided to use them for something really fun. I used the Symmetry Tool to come up with a nice layout. Temecula, CA |
