"Draw your own block. Do NOT use a block as is from the EQ Block Library or any other
EQ product. You may alter a block by adding or removing lines, superimposing two blocks,
combining blocks to create a new single block, or draw an original block. Set the block(s)
into a quilt."

The original block is Paducah Peony. Pasco, Washington. |
Here I have set the block in a Horizontal set, which gives an on-point feel made by the meeting of the corner elements of the blocks. Both quilts use an adaptation of a Judy Martin block. I named the block "Granny's Block" because I am known as "Granny" to both my own grandchildren and the little ones at my church. Canoga Park, CA |

The Life block in a baby block layout. |
My first original block design. Art Deco style. Depending on the coloration this could be a stylized sunrise/sunset, a flock of birds, a school of fish, or a tree (with a half row offset). |
I love to sew Japanese folded techniques. I have sewn alot of this before. I love my EQ6... Norway |

Torbay's official colors are blue, white, tourquoise and yellow. I changed the color of the yellow square in alternative blocks. Torquay, UK |
I saw an antique amish quilt similar to this a while back, except it only had 2 tulips in each corner, and I always thought that it needed 4. It really makes me think of spring. Gypsum, KS |
I was inspired by the basket quilts I saw at a show recently. They were group quilts and the participants had let their imagination run free in designing their blocks. I designed a knitting basket block and set it with other EQ basket blocks. The Netherlands |
Added several more angles to a basic block from the library. Fasset
fabric palette. |

This is the quilt I made for the RJR Sew Fun challenge last fall. The quilt shop I sew for was sent 1 yard cuts of a new line of fabric coming out this spring. MN |
This is a variation the the quilt I submitted for the RJR Sew Fun challenge last fall. MN |
All the blocks in this quilt are variations of the same design, with design components deleted to make the simpler variations and different colorings used to achieve the overall design. I like earth tones combined with black. The colors of this quilt remind me of the US Southwest. This quilt was originally deisgned in 2003 while I was living in Richmond, Virginina, with the intention of using batiks and black solid. I have yet to make the quilt, but I still have the fabrics. I like complex geometric patterns, especially those that have a stained glass look. This block was designed with Easy Draw in EQ5. The name comes from the blue fabric color and the diamonds in the overall design. Edenvale, South Africa |

This block is a combination of Baby Aster and Star of the West, with some modifications. Mission, KS |
I used the EQ Library block Right and Left, then drew and applique center. |
I didn't make a note on the base block for this quilt. It can easily be a revised Blockade, perhaps preceding the Rainbow Diamonds. |
My changes to the Blockade block immediately suggested a rainbow coloring. This coloring resulted in striking diamonds. |
