Crazy Stars

I made this with 2 different blocks from the EQ5 library, recolored them with my favorite colors, and just played with the layout until i got this crazy look, even though it's only 2 blocks.

Since I had used stars for the Sampler challenge, I wanted to do something different for the star challenge. I love the idea of uneven star points. The background of this quilt could be quickly constructed with the use of a commercial, fusible grid product. The star points could be paper pieced as units, then added to the grid.

This layout idea is great for any number of figures for the foreground. The Angel, a snowman, a Santa, 3 Wise Kings or even a Wizard.

The center block is similar to one I saw on the internet. I don't have the URL but the label across the front says "Sue Thomas

Stretched Stars

I made two new blocks by combining 2 blocks into one. It is stretched into a rectangle block shape and specific coloring to create these interlocked stars.

Nine Patch Stars

The star block in this quilt was the result of my attempt to draft a feathered star block. I placed the Nine Patch in the center and repeated it in the corners.
