I made this pattern for a cure quilt. 48 women took part and sewed blocks for it. It's finished now:

Die Sternchen

I wanted something that sparkled and I think I finally got it. I used lots of values of blue and red-violet to make this design pop. The center was kind of boring, so I modified the block to include a new smaller star.

If you stare at it for a while the stars start to spin.

Christmas Ornament 1

I used a layout patten from EQ5 and it reminded me of a Christmas ornament. The star block I started out with is 2612 from BlockBase (I believe) and I made a few changes to it for the star effect.

Christmas Ornament 2

I used an EQ5 Layout and then deleted the border and four corner blocks. This reminded me of a Christmas ornament or could be used as a Christmas tree Skirt.

I like the vivid colors set against a black

All Around Stars

All the blocks are designed with easy draw after having followed Patti's class at the Quilt U (great teacher, great class and great University!). EQ became a lot more easier to handle.

Blue and Yellow Stars

Still done after Patti's class. This is a variation of an EQ block (Diamonds/ 8 point star) or LeMoyne star block redrawn with easy draw.

Star Bright

Inspiration for this design came from a page-a-day calendar of mandalas. It's full of wonderful ideas and this was my first opportunity to use it.

Star Light Star Bright

Snow flakes falling on a starry winters night give the feeling of Christmas. Designed with the * block from EQ5 library and embroidery motifs from the new embroidery album gift from EQ. Thank you, EQ, for such wonderful support throughout the years. You make owning and using this product on of the real joys of owning a computer. Merry Christmas to all who make up EQ.

Christmas Star

All the lettersing was traced from Curlz Font in Word. The little Santa is based on one of my Santa figurines and I drew him, so there shouldn't be a copy right issue anywhere.

The star was indeed a challenge, I picked a star from EQ's library and copied it into an overlaid block. I traced the star points in the applique layerthen copied it again into a new Patchdraw block and deleted the block outline. I then played with the star points until it looked a little more radiant.

This was a great learning experience, since I've never traced letters before and now I'm hooked. I think I've got almost as much design time in this little wall hanging is if I had made it out of cloth.

Harris Star

I'm working on a quilt made up of many different star blocks. My husband and I decided we'd like to design one block of our own and this is what we came up with. I haven't made it yet, but when I do I'll probably use a combination of rotary cutting and paper piecing.
