Club EQ Album: January 2004 Challenge: Two Blocker! Page 8

Two Blocker. Use two different blocks (from the EQ Block Library or ones you've drawn yourself and are willing to share), and create a quilt that shows how these two blocks blend into each other. Lines that appear to connect from one block to the next will be more apparent if you do not use sashing in the layout.

Butterfly Escape

Montreal These butterflies represent escape from a brutal winter! The set is baby-blocks and the basic log-cabin block is flipped and/or rotated. Still have something to learn about symmetries of 6-pointed stars!

Night Sky Through a Spanish Grill
January 2004 Challenge Virtual Quilt: The Monkey Wrench Block has a lot of fascinating uses. Using a solid black reminds me of the old iron grills used on heating vents but this one represents a skylight. The alternate block is a simplified variation of the Arkansas Snowflake. Blooming Geometrics

January 2004 Challenge Virtual Quilt: I found the EQ5 Daisy Petal Fan Block interesting, especially the colors. The alternate block is a variation of EQ5 Stained Glass Window. The idea of combining applique with piecing is demonstrated by using the applique of EQ5 Rose of LeMoyne. Sue in Warsaw, Indiana

This was allot of fun. My love of horses played into the naming of the quilt. Also, the finishing touch--the embroideries. Wheatland, California
