Club EQ Album: January 2004 Challenge: Two Blocker! Page 7

Two Blocker. Use two different blocks (from the EQ Block Library or ones you've drawn yourself and are willing to share), and create a quilt that shows how these two blocks blend into each other. Lines that appear to connect from one block to the next will be more apparent if you do not use sashing in the layout.

Hidden Hearts

These are two original blocks. I was doodling around with interlocking blocks on uneven grids ... 5 and 7 square grids. When I set these two on the quilt, the Hidden Hearts jumped out at me. It took a little fine tuning to get everything blend correctly. A wish for our "next EQ" could we get to draw on the quilt top rather than having to go back and tweek the blocks? (Hint, hint Dean) In an ideal world, I would have drawn heart blocks and set them on point in the border, but the laptop has some significant memory problems and I keep crashing, so you'll have to imagine :) Happy Valentine's Day Jo Moury Haymarket, VA

Started with a Bear Paw Variation block. Created Geese Crossing to have blocks "blend' together. Adapted colouration of both blocks to enhance the blending effect. Kirsten Yee. Burnaby, BC Canada. saky@interchange.ubc.ca

Scrap quilt

No one said that it should be every other block different, :o) only that we have to use two diffenrent blocks . The setting could then be like this: Four of the each block in two groups and rotated. Blocks in Easy Draw.

Jeweled Splendor

This is my first quilt design using EQ5 and I'm pleased with the results. Initially, I had about 10 different color variations for the blocks but settled with this one because of the beautiful jewel tones. I'm sure as I have more play time I'll utilize the tools more to modify the existing blocks and create some of my own. Thanks, Dena Martin denajmartin@hotmail.com
