Club EQ Album: January 2004 Challenge: Two Blocker! Page 4

Two Blocker. Use two different blocks (from the EQ Block Library or ones you've drawn yourself and are willing to share), and create a quilt that shows how these two blocks blend into each other. Lines that appear to connect from one block to the next will be more apparent if you do not use sashing in the layout.

Americana

Two very very simple blocks that I didn't find in the block library so I made myself. This came about after a lot of messing around with other ideas, and eventually evolved into this. 3 fabics, two 8" blocks, Looks like it would be a good quilt for a beginner. Stars and Stripes

I don't know if this one will be accepted because in reality, it has 3 blocks. One of the blocks is a Star Wheel, another is a strip block that is used in the other quilt, and the third questionable block is the corner block that goes tandem with the strip block. I like the way that this one flows, but I know I broke the rules in adding the corner block for the stripes. Even if it doesn't get accepted, I hope that you still like it! :-) 4 fabrics from the Celestial fabric pallete

This was a hard one for me. I first when start to the Good alternate blocks in EQ5 but could not find anything I liked. Then I came back and just looked for blocks I liked. The next day I played for two hours just trying out blocks to see how they looked together. I read a couple of books about placing blocks together then I decided that I had to like it first and think about all of that other stuff later. This works for me. Nice flow and the blocks work well with each other.

Storm at Sea Full Blown

This quilt was designesd using Storm at Sea block and Full Blown Tulip Block. The later had a few lines added to it. With a bit of block rotations and colouring, this is what evolved. Had fun with such simple blocks. Diane Ertl, Dunnville. Ontario.
