My son chose this layout and block. He would tell me how he wanted it to look. He likes things with flames and wishes I would make this for him.

It was fun working with the Layouts, it was something I had not done before.

This is just a basic logcabin and plain blocks, but the blocks that are diamonds really gives it life.

Bits and Pieces

I am playing around with Friendship and Morning Star block pieces to actually make a daughter's quilt from the leftover block pieces of her Mom's quilt. This particular idea doesn't incorporate any Morning Star blocks but does bring in some additional fabrics as an idea to extend limited amounts of fabrics remaining. Began with Star-6 layout.

More Bits and Pieces

Same Star-6 Layout with included Kim's Star blocks and Friendship Star. Fewer fabrics. Continuing journey to brainstorm how to use the bits and pieces and really make the idea in fabric.

Star Layout - 45
These flowers have major sentimental value in my family. I thought the star layout looked like a garden. Then the normal lone star looked too structured. So thanks to Patti's: Node - Select All, I was able to get a pretty neat "random star" block.
