Club EQ Album: November 2002 Challenge: Superimpose Blocks! Page 7

"Explore the EQ Block Library and find two blocks that can be superimposed to create an entirely new block. This can be a really fun thing to do and something you might not think to do without the computer to help you! Start by looking at blocks with similar grids. You can explore further by getting bold about what you combine.

The superimposing or overlaying of one block design over another can be done in the Edit mode from the Sketchbook. Save two blocks into the project Sketchbook. Edit one and select all the lines. Copy. Then Paste those lines over another block drawing that you have selected to Edit from the Sketchbook. Carefully center one over the other and look for design elements to highlight with color."

I had fun overlaying two blocks and then I wondered what would happen if I overlaid three blocks. This is the result! Rotating Star

I just bought EQ5 and this is my first real project (I have been quilting for quite a few years but this is the first time I have used computer software to create a block). I used the Star Dahlia and Lemoyne Star Variation because I like the stars. This project may have some extraneous pieces because some things didn't work like I thought. It was fun and will be the first of many. November 2002 click here to email Barb

The block for this quilt was created using the Double Wedding Ring and the Blazing Star Blocks. Depending on how you colour the blocks the design changes. It was difficult the choose which colouring to submit for the challenge. London, Ontario, Canada click here to email Judy
