| "Explore
the EQ Block Library and find two blocks that can be superimposed to create
an entirely new block. This can be a really fun thing to do and something
you might not think to do without the computer to help you! Start by looking
at blocks with similar grids. You can explore further by getting bold about
what you combine. The superimposing or overlaying of one block design over another can be done in the Edit mode from the Sketchbook. Save two blocks into the project Sketchbook. Edit one and select all the lines. Copy. Then Paste those lines over another block drawing that you have selected to Edit from the Sketchbook. Carefully center one over the other and look for design elements to highlight with color." |

9 Patch & Uneven Cross X I overlaid the uneven cross X onto the 9-patch then played with grading the colors to make it appear as though you can see through the layers. I also reversed the colors of alternate blocks to add more interest. I hope this is an original design. I wasn't looking at anything else as I thought it up. Geese on the Cabin I superimposed a Flying Geese block on a Log Cabin variation block, and then colored it as if the triangles were somewhat transparent, resulting in a blend of the triangle color and the colors in the bars "under" the triangle. Lisa Ruch Champaign, Illinois coeur@soltec.net |

Unnamed Square in a Square superimposed on Ohio star and used as a medallion in a custom layout. I don't like working with very small pieces so wanted this block to be large. Nancy Anderson in Roslyn PA arvinanc@msn.com |

Mosaic Storm Twist Quilt Two blocks superimposed are Storm at sea and Mosaic no4 Then I twisted each quarter 180 degrees to form a new block I call Mosaic Storm Twist. Puzzlers Delight Used 2 blocks from the EQ library, superimposed them to make a new block. Used the custom layout for what I think is a unique and different look for the same resulting block. The blocks used for superimposition were: Whirlwind and Old Maid's Puzzle. |
