| "Explore
the EQ Block Library and find two blocks that can be superimposed to create
an entirely new block. This can be a really fun thing to do and something
you might not think to do without the computer to help you! Start by looking
at blocks with similar grids. You can explore further by getting bold about
what you combine. The superimposing or overlaying of one block design over another can be done in the Edit mode from the Sketchbook. Save two blocks into the project Sketchbook. Edit one and select all the lines. Copy. Then Paste those lines over another block drawing that you have selected to Edit from the Sketchbook. Carefully center one over the other and look for design elements to highlight with color." |

Crosses & Stars After making about 15 overlaid blocks, I found I enjoyed the simpler versions best. I love circles, but I hate sewing them. Using the Octagon as a base, I overlaid White Cross and EQ Star 4. By playing with the borders and colors, I was able to create the illusion of a circle without any curved lines. - enid_newberg@hotmail.com |

Bow's in the Cabin This quilt was created using the Bow Tie Block Overlayed with the Log Cabin. It still maintains the log cabin look, but with the fun star in the middle created from the center of the bow tie. Also I leveraged off of the lines from the bow tie that split a log to use two similar color fabrics for more shading and depth. Dawn Denman Lake Villa, IL click here to email Dawn |

Oklahoma Dasher This quilt was made using the block created by overlaying Road to Oklahoma with a variation of Churn Dash (also known as Churn Dasher). I love the unique geometrical design it creates across the quilt. Dawn Denman Lake Villa, IL click here to email Dawn |
