07barbv1 BarbV, IL The Bear Went Over The Mountain. I used the irregular grid described in EQ4 Magic to make this optical illusion. The quilt does look like there's a mountain pushing up in the middle of it! 0007barb.pj4 available for download at the clubEQ webpage.
07barbv2.gif BarbV, IL The Bear Went Every Which Way. Putting blocks on tilt, which isn't quite "on-point", makes for some interesting movement in the quilt. See EQ4 Magic for instructions for this layout. 0007barb.pj4 available for download at the clubEQ webpage.
07barbv3.gif BarbV, IL Paws-ing. I love setting blocks on square next to blocks on point. One quarter of the Bear's Paw block was used for the elongated border blocks. 0007barb.pj4 available for download at the clubEQ webpage.

07carol.gif Carol, IA Having spent three years teaching and traveling in Australia, I really had to make something when I saw this Koala material. I only had a small amount but was able to fussy cut 4 12" squares with koala bears. Since they were 'bears', the Bear Paw block seemed appropriate. This was my first attempt at scanning fabric to use in a quilt. I think I can do better with practice. The motif was large for scanning. cabaldry@home.com

07marje.gif Marje in Boring Oregon I like to take traditional blocks then add and/or subtract lines to get new looks. I added 8 lines to the Bear's Paw block to get this new block. The colors look like fall leaves so let's call this one 'Bear Trees'. mgrhine@attglobal.net

07reedo.gif Debbie Paw's Paw is made by setting a bear paw quilting template into layer one and setting bear paw blocks into layer two. I followed the directions found in the book EQ Magic, Using A Block as a Quilt Layout Template. Club EQ has been a great inspiration for me learn about EQ by trying out new ideas that I otherwise would never have thought of on my own. dsreedo@nqks.com

07kayc.gif Kay, Crone's Creations Bear's Paw is one of my favorite blocks, and I had a lot of fun playing with this challenge. I hope my entry meets with your approval. As you can see, I really got into the 'Spirit' of the thing! This is an original design, as the quilt notecard states. Thanks for the fun! cronescreations@yahoo.com

07jkpaw.gif JoAnn I decided to play with color this time for my Bears Paws Quilts. The brownish one reminds me of an Iron Door - Strong like a bear- Indestructable! Joannk@aol.com

07pat.gif Pat, FL Bears are in the woods. Log cabins are in the woods. So, I made a center Bear's Paw of Log Cabin blocks and surrounded it with a border of Bear's Paw blocks. Where's the woods? On the back of the quilt, of course! LOL 0007pat.pj4 available for download at the clubEQ webpage.
